About the Maricopa County Democratic Party

The Maricopa County Democratic Party (MCDP) is the official organization of the Democratic Party of Maricopa County. Representing over 450,000 registered Democrats, over 1,000 precinct committee persons the MCDP is dedicated to developing a well-organized, effective political organization fully prepared to win elections at all levels.

Bylaws of the MCDP

Operations of the MCDP are governed by an approved set of Bylaws and by the laws of the State of Arizona governing political parties and organizations. Please note that the MCDP is in the process of completely restating its Bylaws. The MCDP recently voted to restate their Bylaws. When approved corrections have been added to the document, it will be available here for download.

Arizona laws related to political parties and elections may be found in Title 16 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.

Leadership

The MCDP leadership is made up of an Executive Board consisting of the county chairperson, two vice chairs, secretary, treasurer, and sergeant-at-arms. Those currently filling these positions are:

The above officers serve until replacements have been elected and typically serve two year terms.
